PLANTCRAFT - Creating a brand from the ground up.

A Global Plant-Based CPG Startup. Plantcraft was an innovative food-tech venture that developed the world's first clean-label, plant-based deli meats. Launched to meet growing demand for allergen-free, sustainable food alternatives, Plantcraft expanded from initial product formulation into major US retail and food service channels.

THE CHALLENGE

Plantcraft started with an ambitious idea: to create a new generation of plant-based food products and build a brand capable of competing in the US market.

Unlike my other case studies, I wasn't brought in to solve a specific problem. I was a co-founder, building the company from the ground up.

That meant turning an idea into products, a brand, a team and a business, while raising capital and preparing for international expansion. There was no neat boundary around the work because every decision affected something else.

WHAT I SAW

Building Plantcraft showed me first-hand how interconnected a business really is.

Brand affected product. Product affected manufacturing. Distribution affected packaging and economics. Fundraising affected strategy. Strategy affected hiring. Entering the US market changed almost everything.

There was rarely such a thing as an isolated decision.

WHAT I DID

As Co-Founder, I worked across strategy, brand, product, marketing, fundraising, team building and international expansion.

I created the brand from its earliest stages and later led a multidisciplinary marketing function, including internal marketing, social and field marketing teams alongside external PR, design, campaign, merchandising and activation partners.

I was also involved in raising capital, developing partnerships, building our remote US team and navigating the practical realities of taking a new consumer brand into the US market.

THE OUTCOME

Plantcraft grew from an idea into an international CPG business and award-winning brand.

For me, it also brought together many parts of my previous career. Brand, product, technology, marketing, people, finance and operations were no longer separate disciplines I had worked across. They were parts of the same business, and we had to make them work together.

It fundamentally shaped the way I see and build businesses today.
