FUTUREYOU - From brand collateral to brand system.

FutureYou is a specialised leadership consultancy founded by Sandra Chemin, co-founder of Brazil’s first digital agency. Built to help executives, teams, and global organisations navigate continuous change, FutureYou develops conscious leadership models capable of driving meaningful organisational and societal impact.

THE CHALLENGE

I first worked with FutureYou in 2019, helping the then-young leadership consultancy establish a consistent brand and create the materials to support it.

A few years later, they asked me back for what initially looked like another brand and presentation project. But years of growth had created a large collection of presentations, ideas and intellectual property with no consistent way to build on what already existed.

Consultants were pulling together old and mismatched decks, recreating similar material and spending increasing amounts of time fixing formatting, often while developing leadership programs under significant time pressure.

The presentations had become the visible source of frustration. But it was becoming clear that the problem went much deeper than presentation design.

WHAT I SAW

Once I became involved in the work, it became clear that this wasn't really a presentation problem anymore. The underlying issue was how knowledge moved through the business.

FutureYou had valuable intellectual property distributed across individual presentations and people. There was no shared system for creating, finding, evolving and reusing that knowledge.

A better template could make the presentations look more consistent.

It wouldn't solve the problem.

What I DID

I shifted the work from fixing individual presentations to creating a central presentation system that could evolve with the consultancy.

I developed the structure and standards behind it, created processes for how materials should be built and maintained, and trained the team to use it in their day-to-day work.

The aim wasn't simply to make existing work easier to find. It was to change how new work was created, so that something developed for one project could become useful intellectual property for the wider organisation.

What changed

The immediate benefits were more consistent materials, less duplication and less time lost recreating work that already existed.

But the more interesting change was in how the team thought.

Instead of creating each presentation for the immediate need and moving on, consultants increasingly began considering how their work could be structured for future use.

What started in 2019 as helping a young consultancy build a consistent brand had evolved into something much broader: a system for creating, sharing and evolving the knowledge behind that brand.
